Flourtown Country Club, Flourtown, Pennsylvania
There are timelines to build, family dynamics to think about, vendors to coordinate, & a hundred little details that somehow all feel equally important. By the time your wedding day finally arrives, it's easy to feel like you're carrying the weight of making everything "perfect."
That's one of the biggest reasons I believe planning with your photographer matters so much.
Before your wedding day, we'll build a timeline together, map out the story you want your gallery to tell, talk through the moments that matter most to you, & even discuss the things you'd rather skip. The more we plan ahead, the less you have to think about when the day finally gets here.
Because honestly? I don't want you worrying about where you're supposed to be every fifteen minutes.
I want you to be present!!
One thing I've realized over the years is that my personality is actually one of my greatest tools as a photographer.
I've always been a little goofy. Growing up, I thought I had to hide that part of myself because I worried it came across as unprofessional. Somewhere along the way, I realized the opposite was true. Knowing when to bring that energy into a wedding day helps people relax. And relaxed people make genuine memories.
Whether I'm hanging out with your bridesmaids while everyone's getting ready or joking around with the groomsmen before portraits, I'm constantly reading the room. Sometimes people need someone to keep things moving. Sometimes they need someone to make them laugh. Sometimes they just need someone calm who reminds them that everything is okay.
That's a role I genuinely love stepping into.
I'm also a planner by nature. My brain is constantly running through different scenarios before they ever happen. While that definitely fuels my own anxiety sometimes, it's also one of the biggest strengths I bring to weddings.
I think ahead so you don't have to. If you're worried about family photos, a complicated schedule, a surprise planned by your maid of honor, or even a family member who would rather stay out of the camera's view, tell me beforehand. We can make a plan together. I'd much rather solve those problems before your wedding day than have you carrying them around in your head.
Then, when your wedding day arrives...
I want you to let it go. Trust the timeline we've built together. Trust that I'll tell you when it's time for portraits or family photos. The rest of the day?
Go hug your grandparents.
Cry during your vows.
Laugh until your cheeks hurt.
Ride around on golf carts with your wedding party (yes I absolutely chased down the boys with my camera snapping these pics & it was so much fun)!
Dance with your friends.
Be completely, unapologetically yourselves.
Those are the photos you'll treasure years from now. Not because they're perfectly posed, but because they remind you exactly how your wedding day felt. The tears while you were getting ready with your bridesmaids.
The uncontrollable laughter with the guys before the ceremony. The hugs, the happy chaos, the quiet moments, & all the little in-between memories that happen when you're fully present instead of worrying about the next thing on the schedule. Time always moves faster than we expect on a wedding day.
My hope is that when you look back through your gallery years from now, you don't just remember what your wedding looked like.
You remember exactly how much fun you had.
