The Art of Noticing
Hey! If you've made it to this page let me just say, you're a real one. Let me tell ya a little more about who I am & what makes my work unique. I have soft spot for real connection, good energy, sentimental details, & the kind of moments that make you stop and think, I never want to forget this (which in my brain is pretty much every moment lol). When I started taking photos at 13 I did not have some perfectly mapped out plan for where it would take me. I just loved the feeling of noticing things & capturing moments I wanted to remember later: light spilling through the trees, friends laughing the second they forgot the camera was there, & the small, ordinary moments that somehow felt a little more magical when I slowed down long enough to really see them. I loved where the lens would take us; abandoned buildings, random flower fields, & deciding to turn down roads we hadn't ever been down.
Flash forward through the years and that curiosity grew with me. From photography and film classes, creative projects, college, different careers, new seasons of life, & becoming someone who is always finding another way to learn, create, and connect with people. My path has never been just one thing, and honestly, I think that is part of what makes me the photographer I am. It has taught me the depths of noticing.
My educational degrees in art, science, dental hygiene, and health studies have gifted me skills in paying attention to the details, working with intention, communicating clearly, & caring deeply about the people in front of me. I would say I am equal parts creative eye, calm presence, organized helper, professional hype woman, & the person who will quietly fix the little thing no one else noticed.
When I began photographing weddings in 2024, it felt like so many pieces of me came together at once. It was different from creative portraits, the occasional family photos, & event shots I had been doing through the years. It unlocked something in me that made my work encompass authenticity in moments. I realized I am not there just to take pretty pictures, because let's face it, weddings are stressful. I am there to help make the day feel easier. To make you laugh when you feel awkward in front of the camera. To gently guide you when you need direction, then step back when the moment is already unfolding perfectly on its own. To help fluff the dress, fix a veil, gather the right people for a photo, calm the nerves, catch the chaos before the ceremony, and become a little bit of whatever you need that day. Most importantly, I am there to capture the moments that matter so that they live on: The laughter. The soft glances. The teary hugs. The hands fixing jewelry. The quiet breath before walking down the aisle. The messy details. The happy blur of the dance floor. The wind in your dress. Every tiny in between moment that ends up meaning the most because you were busy being present in it all & that is how you should be.
My galleries are meant to feel like the whole day, not just the posed version of it. I want you to remember the emotion, the energy, the people you love, the little details you spent months dreaming about, & the beautifully imperfect moments that made it all yours.
You will absolutely have the photographs you want to frame, share, & look back on forever. But more than that, I want you to have images that bring you right back to how it felt. Because at the end of the day, my work is the art of noticing the little things, the honest things, & the fleeting moments that pass quickly but mean everything later.
